URBANA, Ill. — A Catholic priest on the University of Illinois campus has been charged with selling cocaine from his church office and rectory.
The Rev. Christopher Layden pleaded not guilty Thursday to two counts of delivery of less than 1 gram of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church and one count of possession with intent to deliver 1 to 15 grams of cocaine near a church.
The 33-year-old was arrested Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Newman Center after investigators found 3 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia while searching his home and office. His bond was set at $50,000.

Crazy video footage of the police in Denver at the Democratic National Convention. Some cop in riot gear jacks this little lady right to ground with a baton. Later, that same woman seems to be describing what just happened, when she’s snatched away by what appears to be the same cop that hit her earlier. Free speech and right to assembly heard whimpering.
Daniel Allen Everett plead guilty to child sex abuse after he showed up to meet what he thought was a 14 yr. old girl, but was instead greeted by police. Yes, that’s his booking shot above…yes, that does mean he was wearing that shirt when went to his clandestine rendezvous with what he thought was a young girl. He’s going to be sentenced on Aug. 21 in Pontiac, Michigan. Authorities haven’t indicated if Everett actually has children.

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — Atlanta rapper Lil Scrappy, whose real name is Darryl Richardson, was injured Friday night in a stabbing in DeKalb County.
Authorities said the incident happened shortly after 7 p.m. at the Mountain Crest Apartments in the 1000 block of North Hairston Road in Stone Mountain.

Atlanta Police released a photo a witness of the alleged stabbers that a witness managed to take before nearly being run over by the suspects as they drove off before police arrived.
