If you thought Friday night’s Billy Joel concert was wonderful, you don’t know the miraculous part. According to the Daily News, former Beatle Paul McCartney was hauled off from JFK Airport to Shea Stadium in less than 15 minutes. With the help of the NYPD, of course.

The British singer’s plane landed a little after 11 p.m., and it was met on the tarmac by cops. He ran down the stairs and by 11:20 he jumped on stage at Shea Stadium, surprising the Piano Man. According to the Rush and Molloy blog, he was escorted the whole way by NYPD.

The cops did not divulge the actual route, but it would be fair to assume it was through the ultra-congested Van Wyck Expressway to the stadium. A ride of a little more than 11 miles covered in less than 15 minutes. Any person who has driven the Van Wyck might be green with envy.
