“Voodoo Child” by Jimi Hendrix might be my all-time favorite rock song. And while most guitarists, past or present, should be executed on the spot for even thinking of playing but 1 chord of a Hendrix song, Stevie Ray Vaughan damn near matches Hendrix on this song. Spot on.

Great Cover Versions: “Voodoo Child” as covered by Stevie Ray Vaughn
February 19, 2009Prince steals the show during a great cover of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”
January 6, 2009Watch Prince tear it up at around the 3:30 mark. He might be a bit odd, but that dude is bad on guitar. Other performers include Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Marc Mann, Steve Winwood & Dhani Harrison (George’s son). From the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Very nice cover version of one of the Daily Chum’s favorite Beatles’ songs.
