“Crazy in Love” by The Magic Numbers

January 11, 2009

The Magic Numbers are a groovy band based in London. Check out their superb cover of Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” below. This version was recorded live on BBC radio. You can also find The Magic Numbers performing “Crazy in Love” on “Sounds Eclectic-The Covers.”

Pick yourself up a copy of “Sounds Eclectic-The Covers” on KCRW’s website. Find out more about The Magic Numbers on their official website or on MySpace.

“Christmas in Prison” by John Prine

December 15, 2008

A holiday favorite of the Chum Master’s…..John Prine didn’t produce a video for the song, so this is a fan-produced video.  I couldn’t care less about the political parts of the video, and if it offends you, well, stop watching.  But don’t stop listening…it’s a great song.  Prine is a wonderful songwriter.  Check out more on John Prine at his official website or MySpace.

“How it Ends” by Devotchka

November 12, 2008

You might recognize this song from the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack, or more recently from a commercial for the video game Gears of War 2. Check out more of Devotchka at their official site or at their MySpace page. They didn’t realease an official video of this song so enjoy this song with a collection of photographs of the band.

“Lakes of Canada” by Innocence Mission

October 23, 2008

One of my all-time favorite songs, “Lakes of Canada.” The Innocence Mission features husband and wife Don and Karen Peris crafting beautiful acoustic music around Karen’s striking voice. I couldn’t find an actual video produced by the band, so this is a random video put up by a fan. Enjoy the pumpkin carving.
